Our Nursery

Ladybirds Nursery

Our nursery is currently full.   Please contact the office for information and if you would like to be placed on our waiting list.

As part of the school there is nursery provision for children aged 2-4.

The Nursery room is filled with exciting and fun learning opportunities and has an outdoor area in which the children can explore nature and experience their learning in an outdoor setting. The staff are fully qualified and experienced Nursery practitioners and are committed to providing our Nursery children with the best care and learning opportunities they can.

Learning takes place through child-initiated play with a huge variety of resources and equipment to help them to develop their skills and knowledge of the world, through the framework of the Early Years curriculum.

We offer morning and afternoon sessions, term time only, to funded 2 - 4 year olds.  Sessions will run from 8:40am to 11:40am and from 12:20 noon to 3:20pm and children are expected to attend everyday Monday - Friday. Children attending 30 hours per week will be asked to pay £3.53 per day (subject to change as this is aligned with the government funding amount) per day to cover the 40 minute lunchtime.

The school admits children each September. Funding and entitlement are based on a three-term year, with children starting in September.  If we have spaces available we may be able to offer them to children who become eligible for funding in January or April.

Nursery Funding

Currently all 3 and 4 year-olds are entitled to 15 hours of free early education each week and some are eligible for an additional 15 hours (up to 30 hours per week). Some 2 year olds are also entitled to up to 15 hours of free early education each week. Entitlement starts from the term after the child’s 2nd or 3rd birthday:

Date of birthday range Earliest entitlement starts from
1 April - 31 August September
1 September - 31 December January
1 January - 31 March April

Parents need to check whether they are eligible and how many hours they are entitled to via the online Eligibility Checker at www.childcarechoices.gov.uk If eligible an 11-digit code/ reference number will be generated and should be given to the school in the half term before the child starts. Alternatively, parents may be able to purchase additional hours if there are places available after all funded children have been allocated places.

Nursery Application Process

Our main intake for new children is September, although if there is availability a child can join mid-year. The school manages admissions for nursery places. Please contact the school office for an application form.
