PTA and Volunteering

BPFSA is the Barton Park Friends and School Association - the parent teacher association (PTA) for the school. It aims to enable teachers and parents to work together to improve the school environment for the children. It is for everyone, however much or little time you have to get involved.

We have annual fundraising events such as cake and goodie sales, a disco and film nights.

We are currently fundraising for a wildlife pond for our orchard, as well as subsidising the cost of the annual Christmas theatre trip.

How can you help?

  • Become a class representative.
  • Provide food for and/or help out at our occasional cake / goodies sales.
  • Join the team to plan the annual events.
  • Join the team to become a committee member.

Want to register your interest or find out more?  Contact Ram, our chairperson, or ask your class rep. You don’t need any particular experience, just enthusiasm and ideas.

The PTA also has a Facebook page with more information on how you can help to support Barton Park Primary School.

Volunteering

Volunteering is an incredibly rewarding way to improve the lives of children. Gaining experience working with children can help you decide if teaching is right for you and can even help to support your application to courses and jobs in education.

We provide many opportunities for volunteering here at Barton Park Primary School, from hearing children read to supporting them with their learning in all aspects of their curriculum.

All staff members and anyone who volunteers with us undertakes training in child protection and this training is refreshed every three years in line with Oxfordshire County Council’s safeguarding policy.

We also undertake comprehensive background checks on all staff and any volunteers for whom this is required (in accordance with OCC policy).

If you are interested in volunteering at Barton Park Primary, please complete the form via this link – Volunteer Application form, or if you have queries please contact Katie Rayner on 01865415800 or email office@bartonparkprimary.org.
