Homework
Learning take place all the time, all around us – not just in school. At Barton Park Primary we aim to encourage strong home-school links so that we can work in partnership to ensure the very best education for your child.
Homework will be set regularly for children in all year groups, and it will directly support the work your child is doing in class. The purpose of the homework is to practice and embed skills and to give you and your child a chance to share together the learning that takes place in school.
When your child starts with us in reception, we will build links personally and using an online platform, on which we can share your child’s daily successes and progress towards the Early Learning Goals.
In all year groups, we ask that you read with your child, daily, and we will work with you to keep a log and share next steps. A reading book that is aligned to your child’s phonics level will be sent home each week, as well as a book for you to read to/with your child. Early numeracy will be supported using an app that is linked to our maths scheme.

Times tables:
By the end of year 4, children are expected to know their times tables up to 12 x 12. We work on these regularly at school but any extra support at home is appreciated. The following websites are all useful for learning times tables. Little and often is usually the best way with learning them.
